Eighth Annual Boys’ Conference to be held Nov. 18
The Department of School Social Work Services will host the Eighth Annual Boys’ Conference on Saturday, Nov. 18. The conference will be held 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at Bethel High School and is FREE and open to boys in grades 6 through 12.
The keynote speaker for this year’s conference will be Jay Barnett.
Barnett is the author of the several best-selling books, Finding Our Lost Kings and Queens: Strategies for Empowering Our Future Kings and Queens; Letters to a Young Queen; and Redefining Their Throne. He also has a new book that will soon be released, Hello King; Claim Your Throne.
With over 10 years of highly skilled and acclaimed mentoring and success stories, public speaking and most importantly real-life in-the-trenches business experience, Barnett’s view is radically different. He appreciates and shares with his mentees that leadership is a moment-to-moment choice and not about title and position.
The following workshops will also be offered:
Self-awareness and self-management skills to achieve school and life success
Social-awareness and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships skills
Decision-making skills and responsible behaviors in personal, school, and community contexts
